Hey! I'm Marisol Acuna, 26, originally from Monterrey, Mexico. Currently, I'm a Copywriter at Dieste Inc., crafting kickass ads for AT&T. But, my advertising story has a twist. I started with an MS in Marketing, then switched from Strategy to Creative—a shift that I believe adds significant resonance and insight to my work. I've also contributed to brands like Progressive Insurance, Dos Equis, Cricket, Dunkin’, and Goya, with my favorite ad I’ve worked on including some bilingual talking deer. I really love being involved in all aspects of advertising and will never say no to an opportunity to collaborate and do cool things. For fun, besides many writing side quests, I love running, watching movies, and any good sports game alongside a double cheeseburger.

I didn’t have the traditional journey into advertising. Because of my love for the English language, I got an English Education degree, worked as a teacher for a while, realized it wasn’t for me, and worked at a startup until I got my start at my first agency. It was there I realized there were other, creative ways to use my love of language and I’ve been copywriting ever since. I created work for telecommunications, healthcare, and food companies and am passionate about ideas that move people. I love being a creative and developing and seeing innovative work. Going to the Cannes Lions Festival has been one of the highlights of career, where I was able to take in some of the best work from across the globe. Serving on this jury would be a tremendous honor and I would love the opportunity to review the ideas, offer my thoughts, and spotlight student work that makes waves and raises the bar.
