Lantigua Williams & Co., with partners AIR and Pacific Content, launched The Podcasting, Seriously Awards Fund. The mission of the Awards Fund is to encourage more BIPOC, Queer, and Trans audio creators to submit their work for consideration into awards competition and media/ journalism awards by reimbursing them the cost of the submission.
With AIR and Pacific Content as Fund Partners, the Fund will help independent U.S. and Canada-based audio professionals submit work to key U.S. competitions by covering submission fees for producers, editors, and other creators.
The Fund’s goal is to help elevate the work of creators who have not yet achieved recognition. Awards are catalysts for opportunity, even a nomination or honorable mention elevates the work of creators who have not yet achieved recognition.
"We created the Fund because we know there's so much great work that's going unrecognized, often due to high entry fees. It's one small step in supporting talented audio creators whose work merits the highest praise from our industry." –Juleyka Lantigua-Williams, Founder/CEO of Lantigua Williams & Co and creator of the award-winning Podcast series 70 Million
“Radio is the original social media and NYF Radio Awards is thrilled to work with the Podcasting Seriously Award Fund to expand the opportunity to honor outstanding creative work from under-represented communities,” said Rose Anderson, VP, Executive Director of the New York Festivals Radio Awards.
Funding begins in September each year and is open until March for projects made the previous year. For 2021, due to COVID the Fund deadline is extended until May 1st.
