NEW YORK festivals Announces Winners of the 2006 AME Awards
September 25, 2006: Creativity is not only measured by talent, but in the advertising world, it's results that truly count. AME is the only awards competition of its kind recognizing the effectiveness as well as the creativity of advertising and marketing on a global scale
Tonight, this year's AME Awards winners will be honored at the first-ever Inspiration Festival, sponsored by New York Festivals, at Studio 450 in the heart of Manhattan.
The votes are in and the biggest winners at this years ame awards®, for advertising & marketing effectiveness go to the company who prove that "yes, they McCann" - New York-based advertising agency McCann Erickson topped the list of winners with two Bronze Awards, three Silvers, three Golds, and one Grand Award.
A Grand Award for "Best Special Recognition" was for McCann Erickson: tag ideation's campaign for Levi's 501 Jeans, "Uncomplicated" - a campaign that also won a Gold in the category of "Youth Marketing."
McCann Erickson also scored Gold Awards for "VCast from Verizon Wireless" (in the "Integrated Marketing" category) and for Mastercard's "Priceless" campaign ("Banks/Financial Services/Insurance" category).
The other Grand Award recipient was none other than DDB Germany, with their impressive work on "Short But Fun" for VW Fox. Their campaign may have been "short but fun" but not short on awards, winning not only the Grand for "Best Product and Service," but also a Gold in the "Autos/Automotive Products" category, and a Bronze under "Low Budget."
However, it was JWT Japan who makes Japan the "land of the rising stars" this year, with an impressive win of three Silver Awards ("Sponsorship," "Foods," and "Branding") and One Gold ("Public Relations"), all for their work for KitKat Japan's "Breaking All Records" ad campaign. Four other campaigns of JWT Japan also reached finalist status.
Other notable Gold winners included: Team One, winning two Gold Awards for their work with Lexus (in the categories of "Autos/Automobile Products" and "New Product/Service Launch"); Scholtz & Friends, Berlin for their "Entertainment Promotion" advertising for Chamber Music of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, "Wild Music," which also won them a Bronze in the "Outdoor/Transit" category; and Accenture of Chicago for their own "Integrated Marketing" campaign entitled, "High Performance Delivered."
Cayenne Communications (Amsterdam), Jung von Matt AG (in Hamburg and Zürich), kempertrautmann gmbh (Hamburg), Ogilvy & Mather (Frankfurt), and Yomiko Advertising (Tokyo) all took home Silver medals.
The AME Awards, a part of the International Awards Group and New York Festivals, is the premiere showcase for marketing and creative strategies that work.
As integrated advertising and alternative media become important influences on every marketing strategy, creative teams are presented with a whole new menu of tactics to add to their bag of tricks. The AME Awards celebrates the work that breaks from normal frameworks and demonstrates successful problem solving combined with exceptional ideas, acknowledging marketing effectiveness of advertising campaigns in various media.
A prestigious panel of interactive and multidisciplinary marketers from all over the world will be looking for local, regional, national or international campaigns that successfully demonstrate a clear understanding of a marketing problem to be solved. They will seek out work that accomplishes specific business goals and objectives, while using unexpected combinations of strategic planning and well-crafted concepts.
AME provides a lens through which to view the diverse ways successful campaigns define issues, select targets, and develop insights to solve the seemingly impossible. If your company has a campaign that addresses a tough marketing problem in an imaginative, creative or unexpected way, the judges of the AME Awards encourage you to submit your very best work.
All medalists and finalists of this competition will be featured in New York festivals' Annual, Volume 15, due out February 2007.
